Orientation on Marrakesh Treaty Accession and Way Forward Related Consultation Meeting with Publishers, Writers and Journalist

On 21st March, Tuesday morning VIPS organized an orientation on the Marrakesh Treaty accession and way forward related consultation meeting with publishers, writers, and journalists. Where a renowned writer of Bangladesh Dr. Muhammad Jafar Iqbal was presented as an honorary chief guest and Md.Daud Miah, Copyright Register was present as a special guest. Vashkar Bhattacharjee, National Consultant – Accessibility at a2i Programme, ICT division, was present as a resource person, and Jafor Raja Chowdhury, former register of copyright, was present as a consultant. At this meeting, participants were apprised about the role of writers, publishers, and journalists in ratifying and implementing the Marrakesh Treaty in Bangladesh. There were 24 (F-4, M-20) attendees at this consultation meeting. In this consultation meeting, a mass signature program was conducted under the slogan wanting the implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty in Bangladesh, in which 37 participants signed. The consultation meeting was streamed live from the VIPS Facebook page to about 1500 Facebook users. There were nine online and daily newspapers that covered the event, with links provided below:
