Project Activities:
Ø Provide disability accessible ICT
equipment and support, like- screen reader software, magnification software,
optical and non-optical devices to the IT labs of NAPE and Primary Teachers
Training Institutes (PTI) in the selected districts to strengthen the
capacities of the teacher’s trainers and instructors to train teachers with
disabilities and learners with disabilities.
Ø Provide training to teacher’s
trainers and instructors with necessary special needs aid, devices, instrument
and equipment to make them able to help and support teachers with disabilities
and learners with disabilities.
Ø Organize demonstration on class facilitation
by teachers with disabilities for the orientation of district and divisional
level education officials, PTI and URC instructors for their better
understanding on the need and required supports of the teachers with
disabilities.
Ø Developing & distributing
government teachers training related guidelines, curriculums, subject wise
books in DAISy format.
Ø Round table discussion with media
and others on accessible education for teachers and learners with disabilities.
Ø Organize orientation sessions on disability,
inclusive 03education and gender for the instructors, teachers trainers,
curriculum specialists, high officials of NAPE, DPE
Ø Organize seminar and orientation
sessions on disability and inclusive education for divisional and district
level government education officials.
Ø Organize advocacy workshop with NCTB
on inclusion of disability chapter in textbook curriculum
Ø Workshop with DSS on quality
improvement of special school
Ø Knowledge shearing seminar with different stakeholders.
Ø Strengthening
capacity of 5 DPOs from 5 districts to facilitate continuous policy advocacy
through orientation sessions/workshop on advocacy, leadership communication.
Ø Providing
financial support for 4 District level DPOs to continue advocacy activities
with local stakeholders.
Ø Develop and
publish booklet on different government orders, circulars, policy statements,
policy guidelines which will be used as advocacy instruments by the DPOs,
parents of children with disabilities, government education officials &
teachers.
Ø Printing and distributing storybooks, poems in Braille among visually impaired students.
Ø Publishing
article on National level newspaper.
Ø Advocacy workshop with different IT companies, ICT division, Computer council, BASIS and DPOs on accessible website development
Ø Workshop with PTI, NAPE, Teacher's
Trainer, Instructors on Genders and VAW issues ‘Morjaday gori Somota’
