BACKGROUND

Visually Impaired People’s Society (VIPS) is a national level right-based organization for persons with disabilities.  Established on 4th January 2005 with an initiative of a group of persons with visual disabilities. The aim of VIPS is to empower persons with visual impairment as well as persons with disabilities. Since its establishment, this organization has been involved in advocacy activities with Government and Mainstream organizations to protect the rights of persons with disabilities. VIPS has been providing different capacity development programs like computer training, android operating system training, mobility training, and embossing Braille books, and documents for visually impaired and low vision persons.

Vision
Persons with Visually Impairment will be identified as a creative workforce and have equal access to society as on.

Mission

I. VIPS is recognized as a resource organization for persons with visual impairment and low vision.

II. The organization will have the capacity to cater to the requirement of visually impaired persons by focusing on IEC and other materials and establishing stakeholder networks at different levels.

III. The organization will have the capacity on identifying the needs of advocacy, capacity building, and promote the rights of persons with disability.

IV. The organization will have evidence-based documents focusing on the areas of rights and equal access to the development of the visually impaired person
