On 18th March 2023, Saturday, VIPS organized an orientation on the Marrakesh Treaty accession and way forward related consultation meeting with VIPS members. Vashkar Bhattacharjee, National Consultant – Accessibility at a2i Programme, ICT Division, was present as a resource person, and Jafor Raja Chowdhury, former register of copyrights under the Cultural Affairs Ministry, was present as a consultant at this orientation meeting. At this consultation meeting, participants were introduced to the Marrakesh Treaty Accession and Way Forward related issues. They expressed their views and thoughts on the ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty and its implementation in the Copyright Act of Bangladesh. 48 (F-19, M-29) participants attended this consultation meeting. In this consultation meeting, a mass signature program was conducted under the slogan wanting the implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty in Bangladesh, in which 38 participants signed.
The consultation meeting was streamed live from the VIPS Facebook page to about 1500 Facebook users.
